The Best Use of a Root Vegetable Award goes to mayoral candidate Jimmie Bell, who produced a giant radish at an all-candidates meeting in October when discussing the loss of farmland in Queensborough. Bell, who ran for mayor in 1996, ran for both city council and school board in the past two civic elections. We give props to Bell for bringing props to an all-candidates meeting.
