A 55-year-old woman on a scooter died after being struck by a pickup truck in the Brow of the Hill neighbourhood on Wednesday night.
The New Westminster Police Department is investigating a fatal collision that occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 near Ninth Street and Fourth Avenue.
According to the police department, B.C. Ambulance was called to the scene, where a woman had been hit by a pickup truck. She succumbed to her injured a short time later.
The New Westminster Police Department’s collision analysis and reconstruction team and the forensic identification unit both attended the scene.
“The initial investigation indicates the pickup truck was driving on Fourth Avenue and attempting a turn onto Ninth Street when it struck a motorized scooter being operated by the female," said a press release. “The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision. The driver was not arrested and no charges have been laid at this time.”
