Where to watch the FIFA World Cup 2022 final in Burnaby and New West

The last men standing: Argentina to face France in the final match of FIFA World Cup 2022.
Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022.

The finals of FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar will kick off on Sunday and could very likely go down as one of the most remarkable matches in history.

Reigning champions France hope to take their third World Cup title, which would make Les Bleus only the third nation to emerge as repeat champions — and the first in sixty years.

France faces Argentina, which hopes to end a dry spell with a victory that would be their first in 36 years — they last won in 1986, led by legendary Diego Maradona. The 2022 World Cup Final is also the last chance for another Argentine legend, Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi, to hold the World Cup glory in his hands after announcing his retirement..

The final will also determine the winner of the Adidas Golden Boot race, led by Messi and France's Kylian Mbappe, who are running neck and neck with five goals each.

However, Messi's three assists to Mbappe's two will give him an edge should they fail to score or score a goal each. However, if the players match their goals and assists, Mbappe (at the moment) will have the edge with fewer minutes played.

This is the final World Cup match before the tournament wraps up for four more years and heads to host countries Canada, America and Mexico.

Although Canada didn't qualify, fans in the Lower Mainland are gearing up for a thrilling history-making final with some public screenings and live streaming options.

The Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and France is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. local time — 7 a.m. Pacific time.
