1 Get into the community spirit at the inaugural Seniors' and Family Festival, which is being held at Royal City Centre from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24. The event combines the popular Celebrating Seniors Festival and Family Day into one double-the-fun event.

The Royal City Humane Society is holding its sixth annual variety show fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. at Sapperton Pensioners Hall at 318 Keary St. Tickets are $20 and available at the door or in advance at Greens & Beans Café and Deli, Alpine Animal Hospital and VanPet.
4 Get cycling with the folks at New West Cycle, which is hosting an Everyone Welcome Group Ride on Sunday, Sept. 25. Anyone interested in participating can meet at New West Cycle at 47 Sixth St. at 11 a.m. Call 778-397-3971.
5 Get fed at a local business and support a local non-profit group. Angelina's Café at 960 Quayside Dr. is celebrating its 10th anniversary by raising funds for the Union Gospel Mission. The café is donating $3 from items on its special anniversary menu and offering a donation box. Angelina's Café is open from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
