1 Get hopping for Easter in Queen's Park on Sunday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event goes rain or shine at the Queen's Park bandshell and rainbow playland. Most events are free, but photos with Easter bunnies go for a suggested $2 donation. Family friendly entertainment includes performances by Junior Bean, Music with Marnie and One Woman Circus, crafts, face painting and hop along the bunny trail. 2 Get riding the Easter train at Royal City Centre, running until Saturday, April 7, from 10: 30 a.m. daily. $2 per ride for kids aged two to 10. Royal City Centre, located at the corner of Sixth and Sixth in Uptown New Westminster, is closed on Easter Sunday. For more info, go to www.royalcitycentre.ca.

Get local at the Royal City 3 Farmers Market, running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 7 at the River Market at 810 Quayside Dr. The market features produce, fresh foods, prepared goodies, handmade crafts, music and kids' activities. For more info, call 778-928-7236 or go to www.rcfm. ca.

4 Get shopping at the new Plaza 88 shopping complex at the New Westminster SkyTrain station. If you haven't had a chance to check out the city's newest shopping area, it's just a SkyTrain ride away. The complex features Safeway, Shoppers Drug Mart, CIBC and RBC Royal Bank, along with food options such as Togo Sushi, Subway, A&W, Starbucks and Extreme Pita.

5 Get watching The Kitchen Witches, put on by the Vagabond Players at the Bernie Legge Theatre in Queen's Park. The comedy features two duelling divas who have hated each other for more than 30 years. The comedy is written by Caroline Smith. Curtain time is 8 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, 2 p.m Sunday. Running until April 14, this might be a great way to spend your Easter weekend with family and friends.
