Snowflake Spectacular

The Snowflake Spectacular, part of Shine Bright New West, aims to be a whimsical interactive pop-up snowflake wonderland with live performances of music and dance, a giant magical snow globe, and special snowflake activities.

Holiday Jumble

Shop at the Holiday Jumble, a community market with art, handmade crafts, jewelry, pre-loved treasures, pottery, specialty foods and more. Some vendors will be in attendance three days, while others will attend for a day or two – so the daily offerings will differ.

Ukrainian Charity Christmas Vendor Fair

Vendors will be showcasing the best in Ukrainian cuisine, sweets and handmade crafts by local artisans at a Christmas sale.

Shield Maiden

Playwright and performer Melanie Teichroeb plays Garrison Commander Ingrid Larsdottir in her play, Shield Maiden. It’s described as being a modern feminist story that uses a character from the past to expose the reality that not enough has changed in the treatment of women since the time of the Vikings.

Open house

New West Artists and Royal City Literary Arts Society are having an open house, where you can check out an art exhibit, meet and mingle with local artists, enter to win door prizes and more.

Holiday Pop-up

New West Artists and Royal City Literary Arts Society are having a holiday pop-up show and sale, where you’ll find a variety of art for sale, including assorted gift items like art cards, magnets, books and more.

Sunday, Dec. 17

The Nutcracker

Royal City Youth Ballet brings the magic of The Nutcracker to New West with its full length ballet, featuring a cast of more than a hundred dancers. This holiday classic features music by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and familiar characters including Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Mouse King.

Holiday Market

Uptown New West is presenting a holiday market with artisan vendors in Uptown Plaza – they’ll be in a cozy tent in case the weather isn’t great. There will also be “holiday activations” inside Royal City Centre and Westminster Centre.
