The New Westminster Police Department is investigating the disappearance of 38-year-old Eric Cardeno, who was last seen in the Queensborough area of New Westminster at 2 a.m. on Aug. 14.

He is described as a Filipino male, standing five-foot-10, with a medium build, bald and who has a tattoo along his left chest, extending down his arm to the top of his hand. Cardeno was last seen wearing a dark tank top and black basketball

“We’re searching everywhere,” said Ted Delaportes, a friend of the Cardeno family. “We’re trying to get the word out to everyone.”

“We are very concerned for Mr. Cardeno and we ask that all business and property owners in the Queensborough, Richmond, and Annacis Island area check their property for him,” stated Acting Inspector Jeff Scott. “We are asking for the public’s help to locate him so that we can ensure his well-being. Friends and family are concerned for his safety.”

Business and property owners are asked to do a walk-through of their buildings and surrounding property for Cardeno. All outbuildings, sheds, rooftops, and garages should be checked. Dash-cam footage from the area taken between the hours of 1:30 am and 7:00 am from August 14th is asked to be passed along to the Major Crime Unit.

The NWPD Major Crime Unit is actively investigating to locate Mr. Cardeno’s whereabouts. Anyone with information is asked to call NWPD Major Crime Unit at 604-529-2430 or if he is seen to call 9-1-1.
