BC Bee Supply, based in Burnaby, supplies beekeeping equipment for hobbyists and commercial pollinators across Metro Vancouver and British Columbia.
The business was started six years ago by 'Head Drone,' Winston Wong. Wong, who started as a beekeeping hobbyist, is now a provincewide business owner and recipient of the Burnaby Heights Green Business Leader Award.

Wong shared some of his knowledge with Glacier Media, explaining how smoke and sugar spray can keep bees “calm and distracted” to enable beekeepers to safely harvest honey.
He also had some surprising advice for the non-beekeeper on how to make their gardens and patios bee-friendly. Wong recommends you “do less than you’re doing now and just let the weeds grow.”
