It appears Thursday morning’s shooting in New Westminster was targeted, according to police.
Cops were called out to the 300 block of Carnarvon Street around 6:45 a.m. When they arrived on scene, an injured adult male was found. He was transported to hospital and is currently in critical condition, states a press release.
“As the investigation continues, we have learned that the victim is known to us,” said acting Sgt. Jeff Scott, spokesperson for the New Westminster Police Department.
The NWPD Major Crime Unit is on the file. At this time, the public is not at risk. Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting is asked to call the NWPD at 604-525-5411.
