Two people are recovering in hospital today after a two vehicle collision in New Westminster last night.
Police were called to the scene at Sixth Avenue and McBride Boulevard around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night, after two vehicles collided in the intersection.
According to Sgt. Diana McDaniel of the New Westminster Police Department, both drivers were taken to hospital. One driver suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and the second suffered less serious injuries.
Global News reported that the cars - including a red Mustang - collided head-on with one another, forcing the closure of a portion of McBride overnight.
At this time police are still investigating the cause of the accident and can't say exactly what happened in the intersection, McDaniel said.
