Market One Media Group and Kary Movers Ltd. have joined forces to alleviate the stress the residents of 404 Ash St. are enduring after losing everything from the Jan. 31 fire.
Vancouver-based Market One Media Group has decided to donate $5,000 to help the fire victims, according to its CEO and director Farhan Lalani. The company is also accepting donations from the public to help those who had their home ravaged by the fire.
“Market One Media Group was touched by the story of what took place in New Westminster and we decided to, as a company, donate $5,000 personally, and Kary Movers is facilitating those funds to the supplies for the victims,” said Lalani in a statement to The Record. “We are looking for the public to get behind us so we can put more funds together.”
Kary Movers has been donating time and resources to collect and store clothing, furniture, small appliances, TV’s, and other items over the past week.
Kary Movers and Market One are working together to ensure the donations are distributed to the victims when they are ready to receive them.
The moving company is also looking for a secondary distribution point in New Westminster to make it easier for people to find the donations, instead of going to their Surrey warehouse for the goods.
