One person has died in a fiery crash on Highway 1 – paralyzing all feeder routes heading into Metro Vancouver on the north and south sides of the Fraser River starting at 176 Street.
Surrey RCMP say the crash occurred just after 3 a.m. A commercial truck hit the median along the westbound lanes of the highway.
The impact demolished the big rig, which also burst into flames.
All westbound traffic is being diverted off the busy commuter route until further notice.
A cause of the crash is under investigation.
