Recruitment for a new city administrator is heading into the home stretch.

Paul Daminato's retirement in January has left a vacancy in the top staff position at city hall. Rick Page, the city's director of legislative services, is currently serving as acting city administrator.

Mayor Wayne Wright said the applicants have been short listed to fewer than a half dozen, which includes both internal and external applicants. He said more meetings will take place at the end of March to help determine the successful candidate.

"It is up to a council decision," he said. "The (candidates) last interviews will be with full council."
