Lucky Hours is what Wild Rice Restaurant at the River Market is calling the period between 3 and 5 p.m., when it offers diners appys and special cocktails for just $5. Choose from spring rolls, polenta fries, vegetable potstickers, sui mai, shrimp toast or the chef's special chicken wings.

As for cocktails, the menu includes the popular Lotus (lychee-infused vodka, ginger ale and lime juice), Pink Pearl (gin, pink grapefruit juice, tonic and cassis), Coconut Fling spiced rum, Malibu, coconut water, lime and ginger ale) or the iconic Shanghai

Alley (Alize red, vodka, lychee juice). Prefer a brew instead? No problem. Brews are also priced at $5 during Lucky Hours.

Recent hire Westminster Savings Credit Union recently announced the appointment of Diana Chan as senior vice-president, human resources and corporate communications Chan joins Westminster Savings from Central 1 Credit Union where she held the position of senior vice-president, human resources. Prior to joining Central 1 in 2009, Diana was with Lululemon Athletica responsible for overseeing and managing its store support centre human resources team.

Chan is a chartered accountant and holds an honours business administration degree from the University of Western Ontario. She assumed her new role at Westminster Savings on Aug. 19.
