Celebrations and entertainment abound in the Royal City this weekend, but there's also an informative offering taking place as well. We're continuing with our popular feature, The Record's Top Five (or More) Things to Do This Weekend and offer the following suggestions for the June 7 to 9 weekend.

1 See the impressive talent the city has to offer when members of Golden Age Theatre perform their spring production, Theatrical Revue, on Friday, June 7 at 7: 30 p.m. and Saturday, June 8 at 1: 30 p.m. at Century House. The revue includes short plays, improv skits, a radio show and standup comedians - all performed by the folks at Golden Age Theatre. Tickets are $8 for members or $10 for nonmembers and are available at the front desk of Century House at 620 Eighth St. Admission includes cake and coffee or tea.

2 Educate yourself about drugs at a forum: Parents, Kids and Drugs: Everything you wanted to know about drugs but were afraid to ask.

The event is being held at Connaught Heights Church on Saturday, June 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. and features Const. Phil DiBattista, a qualified drug expert. The free session takes place at 2201 Eighth Ave. For more information or to register, email [email protected].

3 Check out the Vancouver Retro Gaming Expo, which includes eight retro gaming tournaments, a live auction of rare gaming collectibles, retro video game dealers and a visit from Charles Martinet (the official voice of Mario from a number of Nintendo games) and numerous other voices in the industry. For the "grown-up geeks," organizers are providing Video-Game Burlesque with The Vandolls and performances from local musical groups missingNo and Zero Generation. The fun takes place on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 at The Columbia, 530 Columbia St. Tickets are $30 for the weekend or $20 for the day. Online ticket sales and information are available at www. vancouvergamingexpo. com and in-person ticket sales are available at Gamedeals Video Games (407 Columbia St.).

4 Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Lower Mainland Purpose society at a street fair that's being held on Saturday, June 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hyack Square. The event features entertainment, music, food, face painting, games and a kids zone. Hyack Square is located at Columbia and Eighth streets.

5 Enjoy one of New Westminster's most popular events at the 2013 Sapperton Day Street Festival on Sunday, June 9. The event is being held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on East Columbia Street (between Braid and Sherbrooke streets). The festival features live street performers, musical groups, bouncy castles, clowns, games, a rock climbing wall, marketplace vendors, a pancake breakfast and more.
