As spring blossoms and summer approaches, the unmistakable aroma of food trucks starts to fill the streets.

Top Rope Birria, famous for its Birria-style tacos, is starting its full 2023 seasonal run with a stop in New West this weekend.

On Saturday, March 25, Top Rope Birria will be making a pit stop from 1 to 7 p.m. at Steel & Oak Co. Craft Brewing in New West, where folks can get their top rope fixes — including their OG cheesy quesabirria beef and veggie tacos, nachos, and spicy Mexican candy.

Top Rope owner Kevin McKenzie said that the food truck will be travelling all over Lower Mainland this season and will make a stop at the New West craft brewery every other Saturday.

“I love New West,” he said. “We come out to Steel & Oak quite often — their beers are phenomenal. I'm really looking forward to seeing what they have this Saturday. [New West] people seem to really like us; so we're always going to try to do some fun stuff for New West.”

McKenzie added the business is hoping to have different specials every weekend, and teased a burst of flavour in this weekend’s special in New West — Cheetos hot quesadilla.

New Westies visiting will also get to see the food truck’s new look this weekend — with a wrap featuring wrestlers Macho Man Randy Savage and Andre the Giant next to big tacos.

Although the food truck is slated to be open until 7 p.m. on Saturday, he urged visitors to check their Instagram page for regular updates as they sometimes run out early.

Folks who might miss the stop in New West this weekend, can also head to Port Moody or East Vancouver for their Top Rope Birria fixes. Next week, they will be at Burnaby’s Studio Brewing on Friday.
