A 53-year-old New Westminster man was treated in hospital after he was stabbed at a home on Cumberland Street on Sunday.
Officers responded to a home in the 600-block of Cumberland Street around 1:37 p.m. on Feb. 8 after receiving reports a man had been stabbed, according to a media release from New Westminster police.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from serious stab wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been released.
A portion of Cumberland Street between Eighth and Sixth Avenue was closed for several hours on Sunday while officers combed the scene for evidence.
A 46-year-old man was arrested and is currently in custody. He was expected to appear in court on Tuesday, after press deadlines, according to Sgt. Chad Johnson, New Westminster police spokesperson.
