A 27-year-old Surrey man now faces multiple charges related to the Sept. 9 incident where a pickup truck crashed through the front entrance of the Royal Columbian Hospital.

A 27-year-old Surrey man now faces multiple charges related to the Sept. 9 incident where a pickup truck crashed through the front entrance of the Royal Columbian Hospital.

Ranjit Singh Sandhu has been charged with one count each of impaired driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, mischief over $5,000 and mischief that causes actual danger to life.

The incident occurred at 1:35 a.m. on Sept. 9 when a black pickup truck ran through the main entrance of the hospital, causing thousands of dollars of damage to the hospital.

Multiple witnesses witnessed the truck driving erratically along East Columbia Street before it turned into the hospital parking lot.

Two pedestrians suffered minor injuries in the accident.

Sandhu remains in custody until his next court appearance on Wednesday.
