Where there’s smoke, there isn’t always fire.
At least that was the case Thursday evening when firefighters responded to reports of smoke billowing from an apartment on Seventh Street.
Fire crews arrived at 220 Seventh St. around 7 p.m. and determined there was no fire – as it turns out a pot, left on a stove, was the source of the smoke, deputy fire chief John Hatch told the Record.
“It turned out to be just smoke in the suite on the top floor,” he added.
Three fire crews attended the call. No damage or injuries were sustained.
