The Pattullo Bridge is once again open to four lanes of traffic, a month earlier than anticipated while it underwent $100 million in repairs.

Pattullo Bridge traffic will be silenced again this weekend, as the bridge shuts down for the second of three summer maintenance closures.

The crossing will be closed to all traffic, including bicycles and pedestrians, from 9 p.m. Friday evening to 3 a.m. Monday morning.

TransLink scheduled the closures (the final one hits Aug. 29 to Sept. 1) so crews could repair and repave sections of the 77-year-old span’s concrete deck.

The transportation authority will also use the shutdowns to review the condition of the bridge’s driving surface and make any necessary improvements.

Emergency vehicles will still have access to the bridge during the closures.
