The results of an autopsy on the second woman found dead in a Royal City apartment building this month are back, with little indication of how she died.

According to Sgt. Jennifer Pound of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, the autopsy results for 48-year-old Karen Nabors were inconclusive. Investigators will now wait for a toxicology report and the pathologist to conduct more tests on the body in hopes they’ll provide more insight into the cause of death.

Nabors – who died on Aug. 25 – was the second woman found dead in an apartment complex on 11th Street in New Westminster. She was working as an online escort at the time, just like her neighbour, 45-year-old Jill Lyons.

Lyons was found dead almost exactly two weeks prior to Nabors. New West police were called to 211 11th St. around 10 p.m. on Aug. 12. In both cases, the circumstances of the women’s deaths were suspicious and so the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called in to conduct the investigation.

Both autopsy reports on the women have been inconclusive. Investigators are awaiting the results of toxicology reports. At this time, police say foul play hasn’t been confirmed or ruled out.

Anyone with information on the deceased women is asked to call the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team the tip line at 1-877-551-IHIT or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
