New Westminster runners may want to lace up for a local cause this month.
The Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation is inviting Royal City residents to participate in the Scotiabank Vancouver half marathon and 5 km run in support of the foundation on Sunday, June 23.
There are a limited number of free race entries available for both distances, and the foundation is hoping to raise $5,000 through support from local participants.
"If everyone raised just $100 each, we could easily reach our goal," said Adrienne Bakker, president and CEO of the foundation, in a press release.
The free entry codes are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
To register for the event, call 604-520-4438 or e-mail [email protected] to receive your free entry code. For more information about the race, visit www.canadarunningseries.com/svhm/svhmCHARITY.htm.
