A New Westminster rider will be among those hitting the roads for a long bike ride in support of the B.C. Lung Association.
The annual Bicycle Trek for Life and Breath takes place Sept. 7 and 8. The event is a 200-kilometre ride - not a race, but a fundraiser for the association. It welcomes participants
ranging from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist.
Riders travel from White Rock to Cultus Lake, and the ride is fully supported - with gear transportation, medical and mechanical support vans en route, three rest stops a day with snacks and refreshments, all meals and accommodation.
Trek participants have raised close to $6 million in support of lung health and clean air since the event was started in 1984.
This year's event is still open for more riders to take part.
