Quayside Voices is lined up to share its a cappella pop sounds at an outdoor concert in Hume Park on Sunday, Sept. 24.

A New Westminster a cappella quintet is helping to bid farewell to summer with an outdoor concert this weekend.

Music lovers can turn out to Hume Park on Sunday, Sept. 24 to enjoy the sounds of Quayside Voices.

The ensemble, which was formed in 2014, has become known around the region and beyond for their original arrangements and interpretations of popular songs.

"Our music is brought to life with drums, keyboards and bass — but with a twist; all of those sounds are created using our voices," the ensemble says in a write-up about the show.

The quintet is made up of singers Stephanie Lam, Troy Martell, Aerhyn Lau, Daniel Young and Elyse Kantonen, with sound engineer Emil Wu.

They've made their name collaborating with vocal bands across the country, including Victoria's Fifth Street, Edmond's 6 Minute Warning and Toronto's Countermeasure. Most notably, they've also produced and shared the stage with world-renowned Swedish a cappella stars The Real Group

Their weekend performance is part of New Westminster's Concerts in the Park series.

They'll take the stage twice at Hume Park, with sets at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

The day also includes lawn games — you can try your hand at corn hole, giant jenga and more — and, of course, food. Dos Amigos food truck will be on hand serving up Tex-Mex-style street food.

The fun runs from 1 to 3 p.m.
