SUMMER STUDY

Looking for learning opportunities this summer?

The Wonder of Learning: The Hundred Languages of Children exhibit from the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy will open on July 17 at the River Market.

The exhibit will be open from July through to December, said a media release.

Visitors will be immersed in the world of the Reggio Emilia philosophy of early childhood education and understand how children, from birth, use "languages," such as art, music, play, drama, and literacy to learn about and make meaning of the world, the release says.

The exhibit highlights the work of the children of the municipal infanttoddler centres and preschools of Reggio Emilia, Italy.

The Vancouver Reggio Consortium Society, a nonprofit collective representing early childhood educa-tors, college and university educators, artists, researchers, activists, parents, and others, will be hosting the exhibit in collaboration with Reggio Children and

The North America Reggio Emilia Alliance (NAREA).

A series of professional development workshops and conferences is being organized.
