The New Westminster Pride Society took home the prize for the best small float in last weekend's Vancouver Pride Parade event. The float that the society used was on loan from the Hyack Festival Association, a first-time collaboration for the two groups.
The New Wesmtinster Pride Festival, organized by the Royal City Pride Society, takes place next week, from Aug. 16 to 19, with a variety of events around New Westminster, including comedy shows, fundraisers and the festival in Tipperary Park on Aug. 18 from 1 to 5 p.m. See www.royalcitypridesociety.com for more details about events and activities.
