Police are ramping up patrols in the West End after three robberies were reported in the area in two weeks.
The robberies happened between Oct. 13 and 27 in the 800 block of 20th Street and the 700 to 800 blocks of 22nd Street, and all incidents were reported between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., according to a public notice released by New Westminster police.
While the department’s major crime unit investigates these robberies, police have increased uniformed patrols in the area.
“We would like to ask the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the New Westminster police,” Acting Sgt. Jeff Scott, spokesperson for the New West police, said in a release.
