An associate of the Dhak crime group was arrested in New Westminster last week after breaching bail conditions that required him to live in Surrey.

Police officers from the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of B.C. arrested 29-year-old Ryan Milliard at a home in the 800-block of Carnarvon Street, where he was living contrary to bail conditions from a previous arrest.

New Westminster police department's service dog section helped the special enforcement unit search the residence. The search turned up several ounces of cocaine, marijuana, two loaded semi-automatic pistols and about $120,000 in cash.

"This arrest will have a significant impact on the Dhak crime group and will assist greatly in the disruption of their ongoing criminal activity," said Sgt. Lindsey Houghton, spokesperson for the unit, in a press release.

Milliard appeared in New Westminster court Wednesday and set the date for his bail hearing on April 17. He will remain in custody until then.
