We're continuing with The Record's popular Top Five (or More) Things to Do This Weekend in New Westminster. Here are The Record staff's suggestions for the weekend of Dec. 14 to 16.

Check out the music of Peter Mayer, whose Stars and Promises: 1The Light of Christmas show takes place at Massey Theatre on Friday, Dec. 14 at 7: 30 p.m. Mayer, who has been Jimmy Buffett's lead guitarist for the last 20 years, will perform a collection of original and traditional Christmas music at a benefit concert in support of the Golder Trust for Orphans.

2 Create a Fraser River inspired ornament for your tree or home at Fraser River Discovery Centre on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Kids are encouraged to come ready to be creative - and to leave with a handful of decorations. Fraser River Discovery Centre is located at 788 Quayside Dr.

3Start the day with a special Breakfast with Santa that features a pancake breakfast, entertainment, crafts and a sing-along - and a chance to tell Santa what's on your wishlist this Christmas.

The Breakfast with Santa takes place at Centennial Community Centre on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 9: 30 to 11 a.m. Tickets are $6 - and a limited number are available. For more information, call 604777-5100.

4Drop by Royal City Farmers Market where you'll find fresh organic produce, holiday baking, bread, jams, meats, cheeses and more - for yourself or gifts. The winter market takes place on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at River Market, 810 Quayside Dr.

5Build a gingerbread house and get into the holiday spirit at Centennial Community Centre on Sunday, Dec. 16 from 1 to 2: 30 p.m. After building the gingerbread house, kids will enjoy decorating it with candies. The event costs $10. To register call 604-777-5100.

6 Enjoy the ambiance of the past at the Victorian Tea in Grandmother's Room at Irving House. The event, being held on Saturday, Dec. 15 and Sunday, Dec. 16 kend (at noon, 1, 2 and 3 p.m.), is $97.75 for six people or $16.50 per person.

It includes tea, traditional holiday treats and musical entertainment. Each seating can accommodate six guests. For more information or to register, call 604527-4640.
