Photos: New West bargain hunters hit the streets

Did you find treasures at these two weekend sales?

It was a busy weekend for the thrifters, treasure seekers and bargain hunters of New West.

Two popular New Westminster sales drew folks out in droves on Saturday, June 3: the Century House bazaar and the community-wide Sapperton garage sale.

At Century House, shoppers had a chance to check out an array of goods including handmade arts and crafts, baked goods, plants, tools, collectibles, electronics, jewelry, art, books and more. The sale raises funds for the Century House Association, which supports the activities and services offered at the Moody Park centre for adults aged 50+.

Meanwhile, around the streets of Sapperton, residents offered up their own yard and garage sales at 35 different locations around the neighbourhood, and shoppers took advantage of the sunny skies to go on their own treasure hunts.

Photographer Jennifer Gauthier set off on a hunt for photos — here’s some of what she found.
