The Royal City Hyacks peewee football team will open Vancouver Mainland Football League playoffs against the Cloverdale Bobcats.

The peewee Hyacks ended league play with a 19-8 win over the North Surrey Cardinals last weekend.

Sammy Sidhu scored on the opening kickoff, but it was the Hyack defence, led by cornerback David Osho, that proved the difference.

The Hyacks ended the regular season, winning four of their last five games at home.

However, the peewees will start the post-season on the road against Cloverdale. The two teams tied 6-6 in a game earlier this season.

The atom black team ended its season with a win, knocking off the Burnaby Lions 24-0 at Ryall Park last weekend.

Linemen Armaan Sidhu, Sean Crowley and Xavier Venkataya dominated on defence, helping earn the team's first shutout of the season.

Dante Baylis and Reggie Waters both scored a pair of touchdowns for the Hyacks.

The atom orange team also won, earning a 26-12 win in Cloverdale.

The Hyacks flag football team ended the year with a 16-12 loss to White Rock.

Despite the loss, the five and seven year olds managed to put together a winning season, heading into last weekend's jamboree.
