A New Westminster man is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries after being hit by a Royal City Taxi early Sunday morning near the intersection of Eighth Street and Fourth Avenue.
According to Sgt. Diana McDaniel of the New Westminster Police Department, the taxi was travelling northbound in the 300-block of Eighth Street just before 1 a.m. when a man jumped out from between two parked cars and was hit.
The taxi driver stayed at the scene and co-operated with police. McDaniel confirmed on Monday morning that no charges are being recommended against the driver.
"There were plenty of witnesses," said McDaniel.
