Have you heard about Craigslist but don't really know what it is? Or have you tried to use it and gotten frustrated? The New Westminster Public Library can help.
The library is giving a class on selling on Craigslist. Your old furniture, bicycles, baby clothes, computers, and other stuff can still be useful to someone else - and you can make a few bucks while you're at it.
Craigslist is free to use. Library staff will show you how to create an account, submit a post, and add pictures. The class will also cover tips for attracting customers, and scams to be wary of. The class takes place on Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. Register by calling 604-527-4667.
If you can't make it to the class, or need help buying rather than selling, you can get personal computer help on Saturdays and Tuesday evenings at the library.
Call 604-527-4665 to register for an upcoming session. You can have 45 minutes of help from a librarian, and can register for up to two tutorials a month. (Other computer topics can also be covered, such as setting up email, using the mouse, making a resume, or applying for jobs online.)
If you're ready to start using Craigslist, the library has 26 Internet computers available any time the library is open.
