The Vancouver Police Department has recommended 52 criminal charges against 20 suspected rioters from the June 15 Stanley Cup riot.

At a Monday morning press conference, the Vancouver police released the information in what they're calling round 2 of charges being recommended against suspected rioters.

Of the 20 suspected rioters, one is from New Westminster. Also on the list are four people from Burnaby, tied for the most with the four suspected rioters from Surrey.

According to the Vancouver police press release, the people police are recommending charges against range from 15 to 27 years old and include 16 men and four women, including six youths under the age of 18.

The most common charges being recommended in this round include participating in a riot, mischief, assault and break-and-enter.

In the first round of recommended charges announced on Oct. 31, there were 163 recommended criminal charges against 60 suspected rioters.

So far, Crown counsel has approved 69 criminal charges against 27 suspected rioters. All 27 have either turned themselves in or been arrested, with several already having made their first court appearances.
