The Royal City Curling Club has received the city's permission to start serving alcohol earlier in the day.
The club, which has been located on city property at 75 East Sixth Ave. since 1966, has been serving alcohol from noon to 2 a.m. Monday through Thursday and on Saturdays; 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and 11 a.m. to midnight on Sundays. It recently requested that it be able to start liquor service at 9 a.m. each day.
