Schnitzel, anyone? German food will be on the menu in Columbia Square when the Tannenbaum opens this weekend (Feb. 24).

It's the news all you schnitzel and spaetzle fans have been waiting for: the Tannenbaum Restaurant is opening in New Westminster this weekend.

The new German eatery is opening up in the space formerly occupied by Chronic Tacos, in Columbia Square, and foodies of the city have been eagerly watching for the paper to come off the windows and the "Open" sign to show up.

Now, the restaurant has announced its presence on Instagram, and it's bringing the long-awaited news: the Tannenbaum is ready for its opening weekend, Feb. 24 to 26.

You'll be able to enjoy dinner service all three days (Friday, Feb. 24 through Sunday, Feb. 26) from 4 to 10 p.m.

Based on the excitement of the foodies of New West, we'd recommend DM'ing them for a reservation — it's bound to be a busy weekend.
