The Plaza, which is the commercial development being built around the New Westminster SkyTrain station, is home to Safeway and Shoppers Drug Mart. Other new arrivals include CIBC, Limina Beauty Lounge and Spa, Subway, Extreme Pita, Togo Sushi and Westland Insurance.

Mike Degelder, president of Degelder Construction, which is building the development, said space is filling up in The Plaza. He said a lease was recently signed with a tenant who will provide an 8,500 square foot dollar store at The Plaza.

Many residents are anticipating the arrival of Landmark Cinemas, which will be offering a 10-screen cinema at The Plaza.

Plaza 88 is a residential and commercial development that's been built on a site bounded by Columbia and Carnarvon streets and 10th and Eighth streets.
