The New Westminster Police Department is asking anyone who witnessed a hit and run on March 8 in Queensborough to contact the department. At about 6 p.m.

The New Westminster Police Department is asking anyone who witnessed a hit and run on March 8 in Queensborough to contact the department.

At about 6 p.m. on Friday, March 8, a cyclist was crossing the crosswalk at Boyd and Wood streets when he was hit by a vehicle, which fled the scene. The car is described as a dark, older model Mercedes Benz.

The cyclist was taken to Royal Columbian Hospital where he was treated for several broken bones, including broken ribs.

Police are asking any witnesses or anyone who may have helped the victim after the accident to contact Const. Justine Thom at 604-525-5411.
