New Westminster police search for missing teen

The New Westminster Police Department has issued a missing persons alert for a 15-year-old teenaged girl who was temporarily living in the city at the time of her disappearance.

The New Westminster Police Department has issued a missing persons alert for a 15-year-old teenaged girl who was temporarily living in the city at the time of her disappearance.

According to New Westminster police, Colleen Van Dijk was reported missing on April 3. She eventually made contact with her family on May 12 - speaking with her mother on the phone - but hasn't been heard from since.

"Van Dijk is known to make extensive use of public transportation, including buses and SkyTrain and has been known to frequent the bus loop area of Glover Road and Logan Avenue in Langley," stated the press release.

Van Dijk, who also goes by the name Colleen James, is 5'5" tall, weighs about 130lbs, with hazel eyes and has lightened hair. She was last seen wearing a navy blue Roots Canada hooded sweatshirt, large red sunglasses and large hoop earrings.
