The New Westminster Police Department is reminding residents to be vigilant when allowing access into residential buildings after a break-in was reported at a condo complex along Quayside Drive.

On March 11, an unknown male gained access to a condo building after claiming he was a delivery man for FedEx. Despite being unable to provide any identification other than a FedEx envelop, the man was allowed access into the building, according to a media release.

Later that day, a break-in was discovered in one of the units and the NWPD suspect it was the male posing as a FedEx delivery man. The department contacted FedEx and the company confirmed the man in question was not one of its employees.

He is described as Caucasian, 5'10" with a heavy build and dark hair that just covers his ears. He was wearing dark pants, a brown or black leather jacket and carrying a satchel and a FedEx envelope.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Const. Tomas Graham at 604-525-5411 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
