A 33-year-old New Westminster man has been charged with three counts of robbery after being arrested on March 9.

Michael Ross Ogden is in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 21 to face the three robbery charges.

On March 8, just before 8 p.m., a man entered a bank in the 500 block of Sixth Street and produced a note demanding cash. The man did not produce a weapon and after a short period of time, fled without obtaining any money. The man then stole a local taxi, which police found abandoned a short time later in neighbouring Burnaby.

Members of the New Westminster police patrol division and operational support unit started their investigation and arrested Ogden a day later.
