New Westminster police responded to robbery in Columbia Square Sunday night, but the suspects are still at large. According to Sgt. Gary Weishaar, police responded to the Marketplace IGA around 8:30 p.m. after a report of a robbery in progress.

According to Sgt. Gary Weishaar, police responded to the Marketplace IGA around 8:30 p.m. after a report of a robbery in progress. Two men had entered the store, one of which claimed he was armed with a firearm and demanded money from the cashier.

The suspects fled the scene before police arrived. A police search of the area turned up nothing. No one was hurt in the incident, Weishaar said.

Police say they now need the public's help in finding the two suspects.

The first is described as Caucasian, about 5-9 tall, weighing about 170 pounds. He has an olive complexion and partial beard. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black jacket and blue jeans.

The second suspect is Caucasian, about 5-10, 160 pounds and was seen wearing a red jacket, white baseball cap and blue jeans.
