New Westminster election gearing up this week

New Westminster candidates - and voters - have a busy week coming up on the election front. With one all-candidates meeting behind them, local candidates have been invited to attend three all-candidates events in the week ahead.

With one all-candidates meeting behind them, local candidates have been invited to attend three all-candidates events in the week ahead.

The Queen's Park Residents' Association is holding an all-candidates meeting on Sunday, April 28 at 2 p.m. in Centennial Lodge in Queen's Park. The New Westminster Chamber of Commerce will hold an all-candidates meeting on Wednesday, May 1 at 7 p.m. at the Inn at the Quay.

Tenth to the Fraser, NEXT New West and New Westminster Environmental Partners are holding an all-candidates walk on Saturday, May 4 at 5:30 p.m. Candidates and community members will meet at Sapperton Park (at the corner of East Columbia and Sherbrooke streets). After meeting at the park, people will stroll to River Market - giving candidates a chance to chat with community members and allowing each candidate a chance to address the crowd for five minutes.
