While 18 people filed nomination papers to run for city council, one candidate has since withdrawn. Chelsea Lawrence will not longer be vying to be a city councillor.
"She withdrew. It was earlier in the week," said Brenda Sims, the city's chief election officer. "She said she had a job offer."
Candidates running for the mayor, city councillor or school trustee positions have until 4 p.m. today to officially withdraw from the race.
