A New Westminster daycare has been added by the province as a $10 a Day ChildCareBC site where fees are capped at a maximum of $200 a month per child.
Kids Zone Family Daycare in New Westminster is becoming a $10 a Day ChildCareBC site, which means seven child-care spaces will have fees dramatically reduced for parents.
“As a parent, I’ve learned first-hand the challenges of accessing childcare while balancing a career,” said Aman Singh, MLA for Richmond-Queensborough, in a news release. “$10 a day childcare spaces give more families the opportunity to pursue their careers and education while their kids are learning and playing in a nurturing environment.”
This increases the number of $10 a Day ChildCareBC spaces available for families across the province, from 2,500 when the program began in 2018, to more than 6,500. Through a partnership with the Government of Canada, the number of $10 a Day ChildCareBC spaces in the province will more than double again to 12,500 by December 2022.
