New West school district loses secretary-treasurer after just one year

The New Westminster school district is once again on the hunt for a new secretary-treasurer. Kim Morris, who started the job in July 2018, is leaving for School District 61 in Victoria, according to a tweet from school board chair Mark Gifford.

The New Westminster school district is once again on the hunt for a new secretary-treasurer.

Kim Morris, who started the job in July 2018, is leaving for School District 61 in Victoria, according to a tweet from school board chair Mark Gifford.

Morris has 12 years of experience as a secretary-treasurer for school districts in Northern B.C. and the Interior, including Kootenay Lake, Kootenay-Columbia and Prince Rupert.

“This is the most heartbreaking news,” tweeted trustee Gurveen Dhaliwal. “Will miss @KimKMorrisso much!! Can’t appreciate enough having her as the sec-tres in my first year and the amount of work she put with the board and community with our budget, I’ve learned a lot. Victoria is very lucky!!”
