A suspect is on the run after an alleged bank robbery earlier this week.
The New Westminster Police Department confirmed detectives were investigating a robbery that took place around 11 a.m. in the 200 block of East Columbia St., in the area of the Brewery District.
Police say a suspect entered a bank and demanded money. He then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect remains at large at this time, and major crime detectives continue to investigate the incident, wrote acting Sgt. Jeff Scott in an email to the Record.
No injuries were reported.
“We continue to tirelessly investigate this incident, and depending on the evidence, we will arrest the suspect and submit a report to Crown counsel recommending appropriate charges,” Scott wrote.
