Still uncertain about whether to send your children back to class in June?
The New Westminster District Parents Advisory Council wants to help parents sort out their questions about the return to in-class instruction.
As part of the provincial Restart BC plans, schools are opening on a part-time basis for in-class learning starting June 1. The return to class, however, will be voluntary, and those families who choose to do so can continue with remote learning for the remainder of the school year.
The next New Westminster DPAC meeting, set for Thursday, May 21, will be covering parents’ questions about what the return to school will look like. The meeting will be held virtually, via online meeting software.
Organizers have confirmed the virtual attendance of five district staffers: Karim Hachlaf, superintendent; Kristen Keighley-Wight, communications manager; Maryam Naser, associate superintendent: Maureen McRae-Stanger, director of instruction (learning and innovation); and Bruce Cunnings, director of instruction (learning services).
Staffers will answer parents’ pre-submitted questions. The meeting is set to start at 7:10 p.m. All New West parents are invited to attend.
