The man who killed a 79-year-old New Westminster grandmother almost two years ago is scheduled to be sentenced tomorrow.

Charan Dhandwar was out for a walk the evening of June 3, 2015 when she was attacked by a stranger in the West End. Dhandwar died at the scene. Her killer, New Westminster resident Julien Levassaur, was arrested by police when officers arrived at the scene.

On Thursday, Jan. 5 (tomorrow), Levasseur is expected to be sentenced for his crime. The now 25-year-old pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter during a court appearance back in September. He had originally been charged with second degree murder in June 2015.
