A 49-year-old New Westminster man is charged with driving without due care following a fatal collision with a pedestrian last fall.
Brenda Moffat was killed while on her way home on Oct. 30, 2013. Moffat, who was driving a motorized scooter, was crossing the street at Ninth Street and Fourth Avenue when she was struck by a pickup truck, stated a media release from New Westminster police.
Paramedics were called to the scene but Moffat succumbed to her injuries a short time later, the release added.
Following a “thorough investigation” by officers with the department’s traffic unit, police have charged the driver of the pickup, David Wilson with one count of driving without due care.
Wilson’s next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 12.
